Fit Review Friday! Essential Tank Scallop Texture, Wanderer Culotte

Happy Friday everyone! Managed to go to the store for some quick try ons. I didn't have too much time so I only grabbed the Essential Tank Scallop and Wanderer Culotte.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in tops and bottoms. However for the Essential Tank I usually size down to a 2.

I'm a fan of the Essential Tank and when I saw a scallop version was released, I knew I had to try one. I usually size down in the Essential Tank and the same is true for the scallop version. The fabric is not as soft as the regular version, as it is textured, but I think the texture is what makes this tank special. The black is definitely slimming and flatters the figure. I ended up taking this one home with me.

Everyone is raving about the Wanderer Culotte so I grabbed my usual size 4 in the black and true navy to try.

Wanderer Culotte Black Size 4

These are definitely petite friendly. The wide leg silhouette is so in right now, and it's fantastic to find a pair that requires no hemming. The fabric is thin and swishy which is great for casual summer outings. These would be perfect for travel too. The waistband is smocked and does feel a little tight for a size 4. I'm definitely very picky about how I like my clothes to feel on me. Even though it does still fit me, I would probably go up a size if I were to buy them. The store didn't have the cherry cola for me to try and I was too much in a hurry to ask for a size 6. I'm debating about placing an order though!

Wanderer Culotte True Navy Size 4

I think the wide leg looks fantastic and love that these also have pockets!

I have a couple of black wide leg pants already so if I were to order these, I would go with the true navy or cherry cola, but you really can't go wrong with black!

(I'm curious about these, but at 28" this is still too long for petites, I would have to hack off about 4 inches. What do you think, yay or nay?)

(These also caught my eye, still expensive even at the sale price!)

That's all for me! Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!

  1. SO MUCH NAY on the Into Something Good Tight. No, no no.

  2. So the proportions on the wander crop look alittle off. I think the gathered waistband makes the material billow out too much. I liked the silhouette of the TriBeCa pant better on you. Is the essential tank scalloped version longer than the original essential tank? I did buy the extra long pace rival skirt(blk). Great skirt! Fits tts. It’s got the flirty pleats in the back. Will probably get the butter pink one too. Looks like I’ll have to call stores cuz it’s mostly sold out online. I’m 5’1 and it hits just above my knees:). Thanks for your try ons.

    1. I did notice some extra material but I didn't think it was that noticeable, I guess it is! Which means the size 6 would most likely be even more material, so maybe I should nix it.

The Essential Tank Scalloped is the same length as the original version, BUT the front of the original version is about 2 inches shorter than the back. In the scallop version both the front and the back is the same length- Good eye! I still like it though.

I didn't think to try on the long pace rival skirt. What a good idea!

  3. I think the scrunched bottom on the tights look kinda cute but there's too much seaming going on and perhaps the scrunching goes too high. If it were below the knee it'd be better.
The culottes look so cute on you!

    1. The proportions on the tights would be off on petites, There is a lot of seaming going on, but I think the scrunching would probably start around the knees on me. But it's probably not a good idea since I can't return these.

  4. I bought the same essential tank in size 2 since I love essential tank and the new material with silverscent. The wander crop in cherry cola in size 4 is arriving today. I hope the waist band is not a problem for me.

    1. Let me know what you think of the waistband and the cherry cola color. I wonder if it is more purple or more brown.

  5. I love that essential tank on you! Super flattering. How does the fabric feel against your skin? I’m also picky about how things feel and fit.

    1. I haven't tried them out yet for a workout, but I'll do that this weekend and get back to you. But my best guess is as long as the tank is free and flowy (not stuck next to your skin) it should be fine. I think if this were tight like a Swiftly Racerback, it would be uncomfortable. But I'll confirm this in a couple of days!

  6. I've got to agree, there's just too much fabric billowing out on those pants, especially in the thigh area in the back. I'm the one that suggested the Meridian wide leg from Athleta. I think they work because they are slim and close-fitting around the waist and tummy, then wide in the legs. They have a raw edge, not a hem, at the bottom. I think you could just carefully chop off a few inches if they are too long for you.

The tank looks cute on you.

    1. I did look at the Meridians but wasn't sure if I would like it that form fitting at the hip and butt. Have not seen it at the stores yet, but maybe I'll drop by Athleta tomorrow and look again.

  7. I personally think you should not size up on the Wanderer Culotte. Yes the waist is on the tight side but if you size up, there will be too much material bunching up below the waistband. My Cherry Cola pair arrived but I wish it was more purple. Looks a bit too brown for my liking so I’m on the fence. Like you, I already have a few pairs of black wide leg pants but I’m not a navy person. Decision, decision ...

    1. You're probably right about too much material in the size 6. I think I may have to pass on this one. I really dislike waistbands that are too tight and won't want to wear it. =(

That's too bad about the cherry cola. But saves me from temptation!

  8. I love the design of the essential tank and I own a couple but it's just soooo long on petite girls.

    1. They are long but I don't mind the back. Sometimes I will tuck the front in if I'm not wearing tights.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
