Fit Review! Werkshop Nightmare & Flutter Tank Lululemon Lab!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm super excited for this post! I am absolutely in love with these Werkshop Nightmare athleisure leggings. I have the leggings paired up with Lululemon Lab's Flutter Tank. I'll be reviewing both in this post.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms and tops. For Werkshop this translates to a size small.

Werkshop Nightmare Athleisure Size Small

When I first saw Werkshop's sneak peak post on Instagram featuring their latest Nightmare leggings, I knew I had to have them. I love Tina Z's artwork of a dark mysterious Nightmare flying around a purple and black galaxy. It's dreamy and dark, which is so right up my alley.

These leggings feel like butter. Super smooth and soft but without the pilling. They remind me of Align bottoms to be honest in terms of fit. They are THAT comfortable. The other major difference is the length, I normally wear the crop version in Align bottoms and these are very long. I have to actually fold them underneath a few inches. But I think it works.

If you're new to Werkshop and have never tried on a pair, these are high rise and hit slightly above my belly button. The waistband is wide and flat. There is very minimal compression which is why I compare these to Align bottoms.

These leggings are lined in white and are opaque for me in the bend test. My only gripe with the athleisure leggings is the non existent gusset in the crotch area. I would absolutely pay the extra $10 or whatever monetary difference Werkshop would need to charge to add a gusset to the athleisure leggings as well. Even so I still love these enough that I'll overlook it!

Wore these out on Saturday and this was my outfit of the day.

I'm super tempted to also purchase the Amethyst Moto leggings that was released a few months ago. I'm just not 100% sure the lines on the legs will make me look shorter or not. I guess I'll have to try them on and see! Maybe next month. Here are the other designs that are newly released with Nightmare.

(Super tempted to try these, just worried the lines will not be petite friendly.)

This may be the first time I've ever ordered a Lululemon Lab item. The Flutter Tank surprisingly flatters a petite body. I was expecting it to be too long, but it's still works on my short body. At the longest, the asymmetrical hem hits slightly below mid thigh. At the high point it hits at the hip. I'm wearing a size 4 and this tank is true to size.

The fabric is Cupro which feels almost suede like. It's very soft and smooth and silky. The tank definitely drapes well and flatters the body. It hugs the curves yet isn't overly revealing. This tank is definitely not made for working out in. I think it's a nice tank to wear out on a date night with some sexy leggings or skinny jeans. I have very few pieces in my wardrobe that make me feel feminine. This tank checks off that box.

Price wise this is an expensive tank. At $98 this may be the most expensive tank I've ever purchased. I'm not 100% sure I will keep this, but I'm leaning towards it. The fit is amazing, and the fabric is lovely, however there is one issue I'm not a fan of. The neckline is very high and quite tight. I wish it wasn't so small but my husband really likes how this tank looks on me and says it works with the whole look.

What do you think? Love it or return it? Now that I'm familiar with the Flutter line, I kind of want to try the Flutter Short Sleeve and the Flutter Racerback in mystic green as well.

That's it for me! Let me know your thoughts and hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

  1. The Werkshop Pant looks amazing on you. The Nightmare print is very pretty in terms of pattern and print. Amethyst Moto, on the other hand, might not be petite friendly cos your leg will visually be shorted with those lines. I love the unique pattern though.

Mmm ... I too think the neckline of the Flutter Tank could be a bit lower. I also find the armholes too low ..
It’s okay if you pair the tank with sports bra showing the bra pattern and color intentionally, but if you dress it up for a night out you might not wanna show your bra. Just my thoughts though.

    1. Agreed on the Amethyst Moto, that's what is making me hesitate to try it. I could always try it and see, but I would have to pay shipping both ways which is a little annoying if it doesn't work out.

Good point on the Flutter Tank. I think as long as you wear a dark colored bra underneath, it should be able to blend in with the tank. I'm not that worried about that though. Still deciding if I should keep it or not!

  2. Wow, I'm surprised at how much I like the flutter top! I think it looks great on you. The length is almost like a dress but it doesn't look too heavy or too long because of the asymmetrical hem. I'd say keep it!

    1. Thank you! I kind of want to try the short sleeve version too in the crease print.

  4. Love the nightmare on you - curious on your feeling of lack of gusset. I don't think I've worn 'non-gussetted' pants before - does the seam sort of ride up? is it a visually and/or comfort thing? I'm still watching the Jackelopes - I like the feeling of compression though - do you think sizing to an XS would give more of that feeling without having the gusset too visible? (I wear a 4 LLL and S traditional Werkshop but they aren't tight when i first put them on). I love Tina's work too and supporting small women owned businesses especially. I'm up to a dozen pairs of werkshop - they've really replaced Lulu bottoms in my wardrobe.

    1. I would say it's a little bit uncomfortable. It can ride up and then I'll have to adjust myself. LOL! If they are tight, it can be visual but for me it's mostly the comfort level that bothers me. I think you can probably do a size XS in the Jackalope if the small triathalon Werkshop leggings aren't tight on you. I personally love the Jackalope pair and it's still my favorite.

Sigh, and you are a bit taller than me if I recall? 5'4"? If you think the Amethyst Moto won't work for you, it definitely won't work on me!

    2. Are they riding up in the front or the back? and yes I am taller - good memory!

    3. Mainly the front. The seam is right in the middle so sometimes I'll have to tug the crotch down a little bit. TMI? Hahahaha, that is why it also says that wearing undies is recommended. It helps a little bit to have that extra liner.

    4. Thanks! that actually is not TMI - it was what I wanted to know.

  5. Also on the Amethyst Moto - when I first saw them I thought they made the model's legs look larger because all I could think of was puffy snowboots. They've grown on me more but I don't think with my shorter muscular legs that they would be flattering. Just my 2 cents. BUT those nightmares are gorgeous and look great on you (and work with your palette).

  6. That tank looks amazing on you! I didn't think much of the Lab stuff before. I still don't own any werkshop leggings but I definitely admire them.

    1. Thank you! I'm actually pretty surprised at how much I like the tank too. The fabric is really unique. Werkshop is always a brand I go to for leggings after Lululemon. =)

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
