Happy Friday everyone! I went to the store after work to try on the Speed Up Shorts. I tried on a size 2 and a size 4 to see. I'm normally a size 4 in Speed Shorts.
Speed Up Shorts run a little bigger than Speed Shorts. Whenever I tried on a size 2 in Speed Shorts, the liner always seemed too tight and uncomfortable. In the Speed Up Shorts, the liner seems fine, but waistband did give me a slight muffin top.

As you can see, the size 2 is very fitted on me, but I think it works. If it weren't for the muffin top I would go with a size 2. The slit in the thigh is definitely noticeable and the front of the shorts are noticeably higher than the back.
As for the culture clash print, it's a little too busy for me so I am going to pass. I'm not too crazy about red, whites, and blues.
I would stick to your normal size if you want the shorts to fit like the model. I can see some people sizing down though if you're in-between sizes. I'm wearing a size 4 in the dark carbon color.

Overall, I give the new version a thumbs up. I will definitely purchase a pair if they release a print that I love. As for which version I prefer? I can't say just yet since I haven't tested a pair out on a run so I'll hold back on that. If I were to buy a pair, I would stick to my usual size 4.
