Fit Review Friday! Flip Your Dog LS, Align Crop, Goal Crusher Crop!

So yesterday was a very good day or aka very bad day for my wallet.  Last week I tried on the What The Sport Tee in Tiger Space Dye but in a size 4.  I'm normally a size 2 in that top.  The store no longer had the size 2 in stock so I ended up ordering it online.  However I also bought Beat The Heat Short Sleeve in the same color to see which one I like more.  I'll end up returning one of them.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically size 4 in tops and bottoms.

Quick photo I took of Beat The Heat Short Sleeve Size 4

I was surprised the store had Flip Your Dog tops.  The website did not have these uploaded on Tuesday but one of my readers spotted them in Canada.  I tried it on to see, but right away I knew it was too long for my petite frame.

It's a very loose fitting top and I tried this on in a size 4.  Which I'm glad I did because the sleeves were surprisingly tight.  I think they would have been too tight if I sized down to a 2 and I have average sized arms in my opinion.

If you're looking for a top that covers your bum, this would be perfect.  The front is shorter which is nice, but since I'm very short, it's too long for me in the back.  I would say this is true to size because of the fitted sleeves.

Next up we have the Goal Crusher Crop.  I am wearing my regular size 4 in bottoms.  First thing I noticed about these crops is the high waist.  I guess I wasn't expecting these to be high waisted because I was very shocked that they completely went over my belly button.  I'm not a fan of overly high waisted bottoms.  If they go past my belly button by a lot, it's usually a no for me.  The only exception I make for high waisted bottoms is if I can roll the waist down and adjust it.

The inseam on these is supposed to be about calf length but for me they are slightly lower.  Initially the fabric around my lower calves are loose, just above my ankles.   You can see in the first photo there is a slight gape between the fabric and my calves, but I pulled it up a bit so they end at mid calves (hope that makes sense?).

Definitely makes the bum look great which is a plus.  I'm not a huge fan of the mesh panels on the sides.  I feel like it makes it look a little bit cheap?  Although from the website, the best color to get these in would be harbor blue because the mesh doesn't look as evident.  The blue mesh definitely blends in better. Too bad the store didn't have harbor blue in stock for me to try.  Overall, I did like these if it weren't for the high waist.  That's just my preference though.

If you hike them up a bit, there is no gap at the bottom, but it's far from being tight on my leg though.

I was so happy to find the Align Crop in the deep indigo color.  I was super tempted when they were uploaded a few weeks ago, but they sold out super quickly in all sizes.  The size 4 fits perfectly and this color I think is the perfect shade of dark blue.  I try to avoid buying black as much as possible even though I still prefer dark colors.  I just find black too boring.

Align Crop in Deep Indigo Size 4

I only own one pair of Align Pants and they are seriously super comfortable to wear.  I do find the material to be soft and delicate because of the pilling factor and I do baby them.  So far my older pair from last year is holding up okay, but the pilling issue on the bum is starting to show.

These are also high waisted, but you can roll them down which is what I do when I wear them.  Also the material is so thin and super comfortable that sometimes the high waist doesn't bother me and I wear them that way.

The length of these hit a little bit above my ankles, which was about the same as the Goal Crusher Crop.  As long as I pull them up a bit so that they end at around mid calves I can avoid the baggy ankle issue.  Also with these you can hem them, the Goal Crusher Crops you cannot because of the mesh panel.  I personally have gotten a few of my Lululemon bottoms hemmed in the past and they always do an excellent job.

That's all for today, hope everyone has a great weekend!

P.S. I may have ordered a pair of mermaid leggings from Werkshop.  I'll post a review when I get them!

  1. It's funny that lulu seems to be bringing back some older styles like the flip your dog..I have one in black burnout from a couple of years ago which I never wear due to the dropped, tight sleeves (I practice Ashtanga and have pretty muscular arms). Otherwise I really like the cut. Are the sleeves dropped on this version as well?

    1. I didn't know the older version had dropped sleeves. This one seemed like normal sleeves to me. So you may like this version better!

    2. Yes the sleeves are dropped even lower by a good 2 inches! But I still liked the way it looked on. I personally don't find the sleeves tight. I actually always wear the Flip Your Dog with the front facing back. I still love these tops and wear them for casual wear. The one I bought 2 years ago is slightly twisted after I washing it but I did not return it because I love the top so when I saw that it was back, I had to get it. The other change is that this year's version is a Pima cotton blend.

    3. Hah! Interesting about the sleeves! I thought they were okay! But I guess I'm wrong since I never tried the old version of it.

    1. Haha, my wallet is even sadder today. I may have to make some returns because I dropped a lot on the WMTM sale! It's a really good sale imo.

  3. Thank you for the review of he goal crusher crop!! I think I will give them a try. I am ever so slightly taller than you but not as thin, so they should fit well at the calf. Your right they do make your butt look good and hopefully they will do the same for me.

    2. Harbor blue is the color that I am after. It is too pretty to not get something. I like to run so the pockets will be nice.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
