I totally wanted to love these shorts. Was even willing to shell out $68+tax for them. Except sadly I tried on the size 4 and 2 and neither of them worked for me. The size 4 was huge and baggy in the butt.
I tried on the size 2, and while the fit was much better in the butt, I found the waist to be too small. It gave me a slight muffin top, which is not cute! It would be fine if I decided to only wear it for working out and wore a tank over it, but I wanted to get these so I could wear it to the pool or beach.
I am wearing the Yogi Everyday Tank in Heathered Rugged Blue. I found it on mark down for $39 so I picked it up.
However, the back of the butt looks super deflated and sad.
The thigh is also super loose on me.

So because of the price and fit, I decided to leave these home. I also thought the color wasn't as vibrant as I had hoped. I ended up buying a regular solid black Speed Short H2O in my regular see 4. And I ordered this Free To Be Bra.
Hopefully this will work out, otherwise I'll return them both.

Hey I have been following your blog for a bit. Thank you for your hard work. I was wondering if you could give my an opinion about the scuba III color way. I currently own the lovely heathered bark berry and would really love a blue scuba. I am looking at purchasing on the lulu black market eBay or poshmark. Could you tell me what you thought about sapphire blue, double dot and the lakeside denim hero blue. Thank you, Ang

DeleteHi there! I love the heathered bark berry. That's one of my favorite scubas. One thing to note the double dot and lake side denim hero blue fit more snugly than your heathered bark berry. The ones with prints/patterns are also stiffer and feel more restrictive. I do love lakeside denim hero blue and would have bought one on sale but they already sold out in the size 2. I ordered the 4 to try but it was too big. The 2 fits better but it's just not as comfortable to wear. The double dot is great because of the zipper. Zipper is really cool. But if it weren't for the zipper I probably would pass it over. From the solid blues my favorite is heathered alberta lake. That color was only released to Canada. There's some on eBay but they want $$$. The US did get a alberta lake scuba but in the terry version. I'm not a huge fan of terry because the material is thinner and not as soft. It feels almost a bit cheap to me. So I didn't get that when it was released. I guess my order of preference would be-

ReplyDeleteI like that color, but it doesn't really call out to me. Maybe because it looks like a purple blue color? But the heathered scubas are definitely soft.
DeleteIt's killing me seeing the heathered Bali breeze in Australia. I want it so bad! I did get the Alberta rain scuba and it is not as soft but still feels really nice to me. I am a cotton fan though. Lightweight for summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Australia got the bali breeze color as they're in winter season at the moment. Maybe it will get to US/Canada eventually? Oh you got the alberta rain in the terry version? I've never seen it in person but the other colors I've seen sometimes can be hit or miss. If you got that one maybe the heathered version is too similar.
DeleteThe heathered Alberta lake might be too similar but it is stunning. I would not pass it up for a good price. I was thinking Bali in the winter for Australia is strange but Australia must not be thinking that since it is almost sold out. I am hoping for the Bali breeze to be released tomorrow! I just got them in today and the bra. Very happy with both, the fit is perfect. Can't wait to wear them to the pool or beach! I'm heading to a store tomorrow also. Have fun!
