Review! Allbirds Wool Dasher Mizzles and their Best Holiday Sale!

How is everyone doing? We're in the final stretch before the holidays. I'm not even close to finishing up with everyone's gifts. I'm usually much better about this, but this year has been rough for me and just generally not in the mood. The weather here has been cold and rainy and that's definitely not helping either. However, I do have some good news to share. Allbirds is having their best holiday sale starting 12/17 and runs through 12/22. If you're still undecided on gifts, here's your chance, the entire site will be 30% off!

For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds and that is also my street size as well.

P.S. At the end of this post will be an unboxing video of my newest bag. It's really special because it's my first made to order bag.

I've been wanting a pair of warmer shoes that I can also wear in the rain. After looking at my options from Allbirds I decided to go with the Wool Dasher Mizzles since I really love the Dasher line in general. My usual size 5.5 fits well. There is a little bit of extra wiggle room in the toe box for me and the opening of the shoe comes up higher on my ankle than my other Dasher shoes. That's probably my only two concerns about the shoe if I'm being picky.

Let's look at the details of the shoe.

These shoes are made of high quality Merino wool and they also have a rain protective coating which is really great. It's been rainy the past couple of weeks here and I've already worn these out a couple of times before I took these photos. They have held up pretty nicely so far. As always these shoes are machine washable.

I'm still in my neutral stage and love the Stony Cream color. They pretty much go with any outfit. Yes, it is light colored and it does show dirt marks, but they are washable and I plan on keeping these clean by throwing them in the wash every month.

The opening fits fine around my ankles, but they do come up just slightly high.

The bottom of the soles are fairly grippy, but I would still be careful when walking or running in very slick conditions. You can already see some marks from me wearing them. They are very comfortable.

Overall, I'm super happy to add these to my collection. I haven't bought a pair of Mizzles in a long time! These are perfect for colder and dreary weather. Let me know if you have a pair. That's it for me and hope you all have a wonderful start to a brand new week!

  1. Hi Leslie,
I have three pairs of Wool Dasher Mizzles and actually love the higher shoe opening which fits nicely around my ankles. They are great for spring and fall, but definitely not warm enough for Canadian winters. :)

I’m into neutral these days as well, and got a pair of Wool Runner Mizzles in the same Stony Cream color (sadly Wool Dasher Mizzles in Stony Cream is not available on the Canadian site). I wasn’t sure if I would like the color but it’s actually nicer in person!

Not sure if business is not good in Canada but we are missing a lot of nice colors on the Allbirds Canadian site. I don’t think Rugged Purple will ever make it to Canada! :(

    1. Hi Andrea! That is disappointing to here that Candians are missing out on so many good colors. I do agree with you, if Rugged Purple hasn't shown up yet, it's probably not going to happen.

I guess I'm just used to a lower ankle opening! But I do love them, just have to get used to it.

In other news my Scuba Plush arrived in Heathered Nightfall and it is soooo pretty! Definitely a keeper.

    2. I saw the Scuba Plush in Heathered Nightfall at the store (of course my size was not available) and the color is gorgeous! Just wish the velour fabric was a tad thicker and the length an inch shorter! ^_^

    3. Oh that was my reply, Leslie. :)

    4. I thought the length was okay for me in the size 4. But I am so short that I guess I am probably used to longer lengths. I agree with the thicker fabric. Could use some extra plush on the inside. =)

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
