Happy Friday! We're halfway through March already. It'll be summer before you know it. Which reminds me, I need to post a fitness update. I would love for my fitness level to be back to what it was before my shoulder injury. I'm maybe halfway there? Still feels like I have a long way to go. I'm also being extra cautious about pushing the weights when it comes to shoulder exercises. I don't want to reinjure myself. It's a real fear of mine. I also started adding a mobility workout once a week. They're actually a lot of fun and I do think I'm seeing some areas of improvement.
Anyway, let's get to this Fit Review Friday! I was super excited to see Lululemon finally release a blazer for women. I knew going in that the chance of it actually fitting was going to be slim to none. But I still wanted to see it in person.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops. Size 6 in bras.
Relaxed Fit Twill Blazer Black Size XS
I'm wearing size XS. The sleeves are cuffed inwards, they're actually quite long. I'd say they're at least three inches too long. The front of the blazer fits well in the shoulders and arms. I didn't find the arms to be tight.
The length of the blazer is too long on my petite frame. It hits around mid thigh on the front and completely covers everything from behind. There's way too much fabric on the back of the blazer from the shoulders through the waist. It has a boxy fit and not at all flattering from the back.
There is a back vent, which I like and two pockets in the front. The pockets are sewn shut and you do need to cut the stitches. I didn't bother to cut them since I'm returning the blazer.
I think the blazer does look pretty nice from the front, but that's about it. The fabric feels nice, it is slightly textured but it also feels a little stiff. There is a single front button closure, but the blazer looks best left open.
If you're on the taller side, this blazer may work for you. It was an easy pass for me. My hunt for a flattering and relaxed fit blazer continues.
I also ordered the Wundermost Ultra Soft Nulu Racerback Bra to try and did love the Nulu fabric, it's so soft. This bra provides some support and is really comfortable, but I can still tell I'm wearing a bra. The band is stretchy but it's still not as comfortable as my Free People bralettes. Just being honest!!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the fit review. Sadly the blazer didn't work for me either. Looks okay in the front but huge in the back. Sleeves are 2 inches too long.
Hopefully we will be seeing more products in size XXS.

DeleteThanks for the reviews, Leslie! I figured the blazer wouldn't work for us shorties, but I actually think it would look cute if you were going for a menswear kind of look. Are you keeping the bra? I ordered a couple of the Nulu and Mesh triangle bras a couple of weeks ago and really like them for under second layers around the house. There's no Nulu on them, so I'm not sure why that's in the name. (I like the matching bikini undies, too.)
ReplyDeleteWe're seeing more letter vs number sizing released. Word is that everything will eventually go that way to align with other brands. I get that it reduces SKUs, but I'm not sure I love it. I find myself sized out of items that only go down to an XS. It's also a big of a mouthful to say "XXXS" vs "0."
Hi LZ! I ended up returning the bra, decided that I would rather buy more of the Free People bralettes. Those have been my go to when I don't have to go to the office. I wish I could wear them at the office and keep debating if I should try the nip covers lol.
DeleteWow I don't know how I feel about the letter sizing. I would have to try on multiple sizes to make sure I get it right. Will I be XXS XS or sometimes a small? Sigh. Agree, XXXS is quite the mouthful!
Call me boring but the Wool Runner 2 stuck out to me the most, I think I would spend too much time worrying about scuffing it up though, so clean!

DeleteI lost my mind a bit and ordered 3 pairs of Allbirds. Tree Dashers are my favorite, so I ordered a black pair since I don't have one. A necessity, right? I REALLY wished Thunder Purple came out in Dashers. I love the dark purple, it's fairly neutral. So, I decided to get Flyers and Runners with the plan to keep one. I don't find my Runners useful for anything except walking and the Flyer soles stick out a bit too much for me...but I do wear them to gym often. I'll have to decide when they get here.
