Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Lite Waffle Cocoon Cardi - Is it worth the hype?

Today is the last day to get my purchases in before my August No-Buy Challenge. Let me know if you'll be joining me. I do have some really great reviews coming up and some lifestyle posts from my husband. This blog is slowly making its way to its 1500th post and I'm planning on a special giveaway. Stay tuned for more!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall  and I'm wearing size XXS/XS in Barefoot Dreams. I typically wear size 4 in Lululemon and size PXS in Athleta.

Size XXS/XS

I've been eyeing Barefoot Dreams cardi's for a few years now, but finally decided to pull the trigger because my curiosity finally got the best of me. I kept hearing how soft and cozy they are and a lot of bloggers and influencers love promoting Barefoot Dreams during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I could not find one that I liked on Nordstrom, so I purchased mine from Barefoot Dreams on Amazon.

Honestly, I went in with a skeptical mindset. I am familiar with chenille and once had cardigan made of chenille that I loved. It was super soft and cozy but this was back in the 2000's and it probably cost me $25 because that's all I could afford back in the day. 😅 This cardigan feels very soft and silky to the touch. It's a little on the heavy, with a medium thickness. I can understand why people love it. It does feel like you're wrapped up in a plush blanket.

I'm wearing size XXS/XS which is their smallest size and while the overall sleeves and length were fine, the pocket was too low for my arm length. For my to reach the pockets, my arms had to be fully extended which is awkward for me. The sleeves are 3/4 length and surprisingly perfect on me as full length. Do note that the cuffs are tacked down and cannot be undone. I can imagine that this would be an issue for those with longer arms.

Honestly, I love how soft the CozyChic Lite Waffle Cocoon Cardi felt, and yes, it is very cozy but it does look like a robe on me. I also went for the waffle stitch, which probably isn't the best choice because it really isn't something I would ever leave the house with. This is strictly for lounging on the couch in my opinion. Maybe if we were still in pandemic mode, I would have kept this. I was hoping that I could possibly wear this cardi to work, but it's way too casual. Is it worth the price? Definitely not at full price. I would say this would be worth it at half off. I am pretty sure you could find something similar at Target for a lot less. There has to be dupes out there!

Let me know if you have a Barefoot Dreams cardigan and if there are ones that are more office friendly. I would be interested! That's it for me! I hope you all have a wonderful Monday.

  1. Hi Leslie,
I'm a wrap and cardigan person, and really appreciate your great review!

Chenille is not my favorite material and while it's soft and feel luxurious, it doesn't look luxurious to me. On the contrary, it makes me think of Walmart and Target.

The Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Lite Waffle Cocoon Cardi looks very bulky to me, and you look like a kid wearing her mommy's cardigan LOL. It might make a nice lounge cardi but then I would reach for something lighter.

    1. Hi Andrea! Agree with everything you said. My favorite wraps continue to come from Athleta and Naked Cashmere. Naked Cashmere is expensive but they are so luxurious. I wish Lululemon would offer more wraps.

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
