New York Trip - Photo Journal and my New Sunhat from Athleta!

Hope you're all doing well. I'm still looking for inspiration these days. I feel like I'm in a rut. I just wanted to do a quick review on my new Athleta Floppy Sunhat. The older I get, the more worried I am about skin care and skin cancer. I've already got some sun spots on my face that makes me wish I used sunscreen more religiously when I was younger. For those still in your 20s and 30s, take my advice and slap it on! This year I decided I needed to get a sunhat that had decent coverage for my entire face and neck, and this Athleta hat checks all the boxes. It's also really colorful and I love that.

(also available in white)

I'm back from visiting my family in New York and here's a rare photo of me, my sister, and my grandma. I know, my sister and I look nothing alike! We get that all the time. I look more like my dad and my sister takes after my mom. I guess that means I also look like my grandma. 😊 I can't complain, she's super cute even at 100 years old!

And now for some yummy food pictures. 😋 I'm only going to post the best of the best. For dim sum these were so good, they're like sweet pineapple buns with some sweet cream inside. They're also swerved warm.

My aunt took me to a soup dumpling restaurant and they had the biggest and juiciest soup dumplings I've ever seen. She told me to take a bite off the top to make a small hole and then pour some soy sauce inside. Of course once you pop the whole thing in your mom, the soup inside the dumplings makes it so flavorful.

Apparently this egg dish is hard to get in Atlanta.

Turnip cake - so good.

Pastries from Angelina Paris
(That chocolate eclair is to die for!)

In between all the eating, I made sure to get some walking in. There's a little park close to my parent's house that I love. It goes along the water which is something I really miss about living in Atlanta.

I met up with one of my very close friends and had brunch at Ladurée. They're known for their amazing macarons. Sadly, I did not get some macarons to go. I'm really regretting that now. 😅

Next door to Ladurée was TheRealReal and I could not help but gawk at their Hermés wall of Birkins and Kellys. Hard to see in the photo, but the purple Birkin in the middle is crocodile and the hardware was either diamonds or crystals!

I'm happy to be home, I missed my husband and four kitties so much! Hope you all have an amazing week!

  1. What a lovely mauve-colored building with wheel window in the last pic. Maybe you can laser your sun spots off, although you'll have ugly brown scabs on your face for awhile!

    1. Hi there. I do need to see my dermatologist soon. I'll ask about lasering them off! That's St. James' Church located on 865 Madison Ave. It's a beautiful buidling.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
