For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops.
This Zella jacket is very soft and cozy. I found it to run a little large for size XS. Easily enough room to layer. The sleeves are long, but I didn't think they were too long on my petite frame. I liked that there are thumbholes. It's a light weight jacket and good for cool summer nights and easily a great piece to transition into fall.
The back offers a decent amount of coverage. It almost covers my bum. The one thing I wish this jacket had is a zipper garage. The collar when zipped up hits the bottom of my chin, and when I have it partially zipped, the collar can be a little finicky. It doesn't quite lay flat because of the ruffles and I found it to be a little distracting.
The pockets are nice and deep and can hold my iPhoneX easily without any fear of falling out. The color is not quite black, it's more of a heathered dark charcoal. I definitely like this jacket a lot, I just wish it was a little bit more fitted around the lower waist. In some of the photos you can see the jacket poofs out a little bit in the tummy area.
Next we have the Zella West Coast Asymmetrical Hoodie. I'm wearing size XS and it's definitely a relaxed fit. I would still consider it to be true to size. The color is a solid deep purple and very rich. I wasn't too crazy about the thick drawstrings, but I feel like it blends in well enough and doesn't stand out too much.
One thing I didn't like is how shallow the pockets are. I would not trust my iPhone in it. The length hits at the hip and the back provides some partial bum coverage.
The asymmetrical zipper is a nice detail and the drape falls nicely from the hood. The hood is oversized but works well with the overall look. The inside is terry, and it's not super soft but it is comfortable enough. I like this hoodie a lot. I also purchased it in gray but I think I'm leaning towards keeping the purple.
Here are a few photos of the Zella West Coast Asymmetrical Hoodie in medium heather charcoal gray. Which do you like more? Help me decide! The gray is a little more casual and has worn in look.
(It would look better if it wasn't so wrinkly!)
I also purchased Dior Glow Powder in holographic glow. I'm such a sucker for shiny pretty things. The highlighter is actually very subtle. It's a light shimmer and goes on very smoothly over my make up. I actually don't wear make up anymore since we have to wear masks, but I did use it for this photo shoot and I thought it looked nice. I almost never wear make up during these photo shoots by the way!
Dior Glow Powder in Holographic Glow #6
The case is made of plastic, which feels a bit flimsy to be honest. I can see how some reviews complained that the case broke pretty quickly. I definitely wouldn't recommend carrying this with you in a make up bag. I think it makes a nice addition to my current powders and highlighters.
My Cle De Peau highlighter probably is getting a bit old... I think I've had it for over three years now. It probably needs to be tossed soon! That's it for me! Hope you all have a nice weekend and don't forget to check back on Monday for my giveaway. 😃
The Zella West Coast Asymmetrical Hoodie is so cute! I love both colors but if I could only go with one, it would be purple! It’s such a deep rich gorgeous purple color!
ReplyDeleteThe asymmetrical zipper is a nice detail and makes the hoodie look special! Also loving the generous hood! I would say keep both colors if you can! :D
Thanks!! Yes I just decided I will keep the purple and return the gray. The purple is just a tad sharper. Really love how deep the color is. I am loving the hood too.
DeleteDefinitely keep the purple! The ruching in the first jacket looks really good! Kinda like the LLL that dropped earlier this week.
ReplyDeleteYeah it totally does look like the Beyond the Studio Jacket! It's also about half the price lol. Yep, I am keeping the purple hoodie. =)
