Happy Friday everyone! Before I went on my ban I placed a Lululemon order for the Pack It Down Jacket and the Hooded Define Jacket in nulu.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops.
For this jacket I was able to size down to a 2 since it isn't too form fitting. There's not a lot of room to layer however. If you're looking to layer I would get your normal size. This jacket has 700 fill goose down insulation. I also like that Lululemon noted the down feathers are certified to Responsible Down Standard. It makes me feel better about buying a new down jacket.
This jacket is definitely a no frills jacket. There really isn't anything special about the design. It's as plain as you can get from Lululemon. There isn't a logo anywhere except when the jacket is fully zipped up. You can't see it when it's half zipped.
The jacket looks great when zipped. It's fairly fitted but still comfortable. I can layer a Define Jacket underneath if I wanted to but nothing thicker than that. If I wore sweaters with this I would need a size 4.
The main reason I want to keep this jacket is because of the color. It looks nothing like the color online. It's not a rose pink at all. It's more of a purple-brown color. The Glyde fabric is also very soft to touch. The zipper is buttery smooth.
The hood is also removable!
Overall the jacket is very cute. Some reviews I've read online complain about the feathers coming out at the seams. I've looked mine over very carefully and yes you can definitely see some feathers sticking out here and there. I took out my Down For A Run Jacket that I bought last year and it's no different. I'm slightly on fence about keeping this jacket, but I'm leaning towards it. The sleeves are also a little too long but that's always expected when you're petite.
Next up we have the new Define Jacket with a hood made out of nulu. I decided to stick with my usual size 4 in this jacket and I'm glad I did. If anything I probably could have sized up. The front of the jacket looks perfectly fine zipped, but the back looked a little too tight for my tastes.
Too tight in the back.
The interesting thing is because it's made of nulu, it didn't feel too tight. It was perfectly comfortable on. The color vintage mauve is very pretty. It looks amazing paired with gray.
Overall I like this jacket, but not 100% in love so I'm returning it. If you're looking for some other jackets for fall I noticed Lululemon brought back their Down & Around Jacket from last year which I almost kept. The Radiant Jacket is also back and I'm willing to give it another try if they released it in more colors. The heathered fatigue green does look pretty but I'm not sure I can pull that off with my skin tone.
That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! What do you think of these two pieces?

I love the down jacket! In my experience, down always tries to escape, regardless of the brand.
ReplyDeleteI think that's very true Sarah. It's probably more noticeable on some than on others.
DeleteThe down jacket is very pretty but the sleeves are way too long for you. If it was me, that would drive me crazy.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I know they probably should bother me but I'm so used to sleeves being too long, that it doesn't even register at times. Everything is always too long on me!
DeleteI love the down jacket on you! The color looks really good :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!! It is a pretty color, different.
DeleteThe down jacket looks amazing on you! I was interested in getting it but I keep telling myself that I don’t need another down jacket. Seeing how nice it looks on you makes me wanna order it now! The color is pretty, but you mentioned that it looks different in person and I’m a bit hesitant.
ReplyDeleteI looked at the pictures and there should be a logo on the left hip close to the side seam. Maybe it’s tone on tone so barely noticeable, which is good.
The sleeves are kind of long on you but other than that, the jacket is a keeper!

I should have phrased that better, I meant the color of the jacket doesn't look like the stock model photos on Lululemon's website. It looks more pink there, in real life it's actually more purple brown. Not pink in my opinion. The colors on my blog are more accurate.
DeleteThere is a tiny little logo, I noticed it after my post! But other than that there isn't anything that screams Lululemon.
If you do decide to try it on, let me know your thoughts!
Saw the down vest in the store today and somehow the color looks better in your pictures! I find the color more rose than purple, kind of like rose with a hint of brown. I would’ve loved it if it was more vibrant. Too bad cos it looks really nice in your pictures! The material is buttery soft but I don’t need another black down jacket. The other two colors are not tempting to me at all.
ReplyDeleteYou might wanna consider trying the On the Fly Crop. My friend is 5’ and it looks cute on her!
Andrea
That still seems a little too long for me. At 23 inches it would be at my ankle, but I'll check it out!
DeleteThe down jacket color is so pretty and when zipped up with the hood you look so cute!
ReplyDeleteI think the define hooded jacket is really pretty especially paired with grey like you said. But since the color is super pretty maybe another item in that color since you don't love the jacket 100%. :)
I'll hold on to the jacket for now. I'll think about it some more. But it really does look good on!
DeleteThe down jacket looks great on you. It makes me really want it, but I will try my best to resist. I saw the vest version today and it looks even cuter in person.
ReplyDeleteI personally never wear vests... I'm more of a jacket person! But the vest is really cute too.
DeleteI noticed you have two down jackets, both are pack it down jacksets (one is 2018 posted here, one is 2019 or 2020?) Would you please compare them and tell which one you prefer? I am considering to buy either the 2018 or the new version. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteHi there. The 2019 Pack It Down Jacket I only tried on at the store. I did not purchase it so I can't give you a detailed review of which one I like better. I wasn't a fan of the new design. Looks a little bit unpolished compared to the 2018.

However I think the 2018 Pack It Down Jacket- the one in this review is more flattering. I also like the color more. Hope that helps!
Thank you for your help! I also like the 2018 more according to the pictures. I will buy the same one as you posted here:)
ReplyDeleteYay! You'll love it!
