Major Fit Review Friday! Wunder Under Pant Ombre, WU Crop Midnight Tulle, Wunder Under Pant Tech Mesh, Scuba Hoodie Terry, First Mile Jacket,

I'm posting this a day early than usual because of the upcoming holiday!  I can't believe there's only 3 days left.  Before I jump into the fit reviews, I just wanted to point out the Wunder Under Pants in herringbone that popped up online.  I think this is the first time I'm seeing them this year.  I just wish they weren't hi-rise.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches and usually wear a size 4 in tops and bottoms.
*Warning there's about 30 photos in this post!

When I saw the Wunder Under Pant Hi-Rise in Ombre I knew I wanted to try them.  Given how vertically challenged I am, I expected them to be super long and maybe the ombre effect wouldn't even be apparent enough on my short legs, but as you can see there's definitely discernible ombre effect even on my 26 inch inseam.

I'm wearing my usual size 4.  First thing I noticed right away is how high the waist is.  I expected it to be high, but these are super high waisted.  They feel like they're right underneath my rib cage.  I for one am not a fan of hi-rise in general, but occasionally I don't mind it depending on the style.  I really like High Times Pant and Align Pants even though they're hi-rise.  But these are super hi-rise.  It was actually making me a bit hot when I was taking the photos.  They're at least one inch above my belly button.  The back coverage is insane.  It felt like it almost came up to my bra!  If you're the type that loves hi-rise this is for you.

The fabric is nicely thick and super soft.  It's also very stretchy which makes these very comfortable to move around in.  These also passed the bend over test.  The length is super long as expected.  Here I have them folded under, but otherwise if I left them scrunched up it was too messy looking.  I think for someone my height, at least 5 inches or so would have to be taken off.  They're loooooong.

Taking the price into consideration at $128 a pop, I say unless these fit you perfectly, I wouldn't pay the price.  For me personally, the super hi-rise was the deal breaker.  I would have kept them if they were regular rise WU pants and I would have gotten them hemmed.  I think they look super cute with boots.

Here I'm wearing the new Scuba Hoodie IV in Heathered Alberta Lake Size 2

I know, what am I doing purchasing another hoodie?!  What is wrong with me?!  BUT, I will tell you that this color is probably my second favorite color right after heathered bark berry.  There, I said it.  Earlier this year Canada got this color in Scuba Hoodie III and I really wanted it!  Sadly, it never made it to the US.

Anyone remember this?

So, when I saw this come up, I had to bite my tongue and order it.  I really wasn't impressed with the nocturnal teal Scuba I tried on last month, but I would give this a shot since it's also made of super soft Terry.  And it really is suuuuuuuuper soft.

I'm wearing my usual size 2, and the fit is the same as the nocturnal teal non terry version.  Loose and comfortable.  I'm leaning towards keeping this one because of the color and how soft it is.  Again, I wish this one came with a special gold zipper.  I think what really made the heathered bark berry that much more coveted is the rose gold zipper.

When Lululemon came out with the Tech Mesh High Times back in 2014, I missed out on them.  Honestly I was just getting into Lululemon at the end of 2014, so I'm fairly a newbie.  Since everyone seemed to love the HT version I decided to give the Wunder Under version a try.

I'm wearing my usual size 4.  The rise on this pair hits right at my belly button, which I prefer.  These seem to be baggy around my knees and calves which make them look extra sloppy with all the mesh. I've read comments that it's a mummy look and I can kind of see their point.  These are also very long on my short legs so again I have them folded underneath.  But I do not think these can be hemmed at all because the mesh goes all the way down to the hem.

Looks sloppy!

The fabric is full on luon and felt soft and substantial.  These passed the bend over test for me.  But because of the price at $118, the sloppiness at the knees and calves, they're a no for me.  These would work much better if you're average height or taller with thicker knees and calves than mine.

Next up are the Wunder Under Crop in midnight tulle in blue.  These are also hi-rise.  (Whyyyyy must everything be hi-rise) First thing I noticed is how small these are.  I'm wearing my usual size 4, but I could barely pull these over my hips.  Once I got them on, they surprisingly felt fine.

These also hit my belly button.  The fabric is super smooth full on luxtreme and feel slightly compressive.  These were not 100% opaque on me.  You could see a hint of my underwear during the bend test, but only if you looked very closely.  The print itself is very lovely.  It really does remind me of unicorn tears.  I wouldn't mind owning something in this print.

The ankles flare out on me, which is always annoying.  If I kept these I would get them hemmed.  But I think I'm going to hold out and get this print in the Speed Shorts.   The blue really is amazing.

Lastly I finally bit the bullet and ordered the darkest magenta First Mile Jacket.  The darkest magenta is currently sold out online, but you can still find them in stores.

I'm wearing my usual size 4.  I could have fit into the size 2, if not for how tight the back was.  So I would suggest sticking to your regular size.  The color on this is so gorgeous.  I've been looking at this color since it came out in October.  I was really debating on getting the darkest magenta in the Define Jacket that's currently on WMTM for $89, but I have about 5 Define Jackets already so decided to go with the jacket instead.  But if you're looking for something in this color that's more affordable the Define Jacket is the way to go.

The sleeves are long on me and there are no thumbholes, but it does have cuffins.  It's expensive for what it is.  At $228 there is no down but is a Glyde Soft-shell which is water and wind resistant.  I would say it's a medium weight jacket for fall weather.  I definitely wouldn't wear this out in the freezing cold temperatures unless I've got another layer underneath.

I really enjoy the look of this jacket and how it fits on my petite frame so I'm definitely keeping this one.  That's all for me today, and I hope everyone has a fabulous holiday!

    1. They really are cute! I would have kept them if they weren't hi-rise. I hope they release these in high times pant or something... Hmmm... maybe next time I'm at the store I will try a size 2. =)

    2. With full of excitement, i just visited the store!! I tried wup ombre and surprised by how long the rise is! The fabric was super soft and print was super cute, and I found sheens over my thighs. I might want to get them when the price goes down but not $128. :(
They had the nulux dazzle wup for $99 marked down, so I got them instead. I tried both size 2 & 4 and i liked them in size 2. You SHOULD now try size 2.

    3. Yes! the hi-rise is really high. It is an inch above my belly button, it is too much for me. Nice score on the dazzle WUP! Those are super comfy. I guess I will have to try a size 2 next time! I hope I'm not in between sizes now.

  2. Thank you for the try-on reviews! I was in the Burlington Mall MA today and Lulu was out of small sizes in most of their popular items. I was going to get either white or electric coral restless PO but they were completely out. I did try on the ombre WUP and tech mesh. They are both so long on me (5'1"). I really like the ombre WUP but I am in between 2 and 4. They only had 2, which is a little tight on me. The price though...

Anyway, my store did not get the blue midnight tulle speed shorts. You mentioned that it fits loose in your earlier post. It looks tight on the Lulu model though. I was planning on ordering my usual size 4 but your comment makes me hesitant. Did you lose weight? I think Yoginitiff is right. Also have you noticed that the inseams are not even on many speed shorts lately. I may order a couple to cherry pick. Don't we all have major Lulu problems?

    1. I miss going to the Burlington Mall! When I lived in Boston I went there during Christmas time and scored some really nice mark downs. I agree, the price is really high for the ombre. WUP, but I definitely like those more than the Tech Mesh.

Hmm.... it's possible I lost some weight? I have to try on the size 2 next time and see... Maybe order the Speeds in a few sizes, because I know they're not all made exactly the same, they're always a little bit different even in the same size. Get a couple of size 2s and a couple of size 4s. =) I didn't pay attention to the inseams but now that you brought it up, I will be on the lookout. Thanks!!

    2. I live in Burlington! I just had to pipe up as I'm having an "it's a small world after all" moment over here :). Thanks so much for all the fit reviews, so helpful!

    4. I live in western mass and do most Lulu shopping online. Your reviews are soooo helpful! I love going to the Lulus around Boston area. Which was your favorite?

    5. My favorite was the Chestnut Hill store. I went there all the time. It was in walking distance when I lived there. Granted it was like a 30 minute walk but I loved going. The one on Newbury street is kind of small. I also went to the one in the mall near there, but Chestnut Hill was the nicest.

    6. Burlington girl here again. Chestnut Hill is great! It's big, and I love that it's not in a mall. Market St. in Lynnfield is a hidden gem, I find. I often have good luck there. I really like the Hingham location too-I often stop in there on the way to the Cape or while visiting South Shore family, and I've gotten some great deals. The staff there is so nice, too, same with Market St. The Burlington staff can be a crapshoot--the old timers are great and the others, well......

    7. I've never been to the Hingham location. One time at Burlington I did get bad customer service. The educator literally ignored me standing there for a fitting room...

  3. I am really liking the midnight tulle multi- glad you did a fit review. I was going to get it online yesterday but I don't see it listed anymore. Is the inside white? If your tts was slightly tight, would you have gone up a size? Normally, luxtreme is light weight fabric- would you find this true of the this particular crop? I use my luxtreme pants for spin class, but I usually have some mesh- so I'm concerned with getting to warm with these crops. TIA! I love that you do try ons for the petite crowd!

    1. I just double checked the link and every size is still available except for the size 2. The inside of these are lined white, which is why it's not 100% opaque. I was wearing hot pink underwear if you wanted to know and you could see a very slight shade of the pink, nothing crazy though. And only if you looked super close. I'm a solid size 4 in bottoms so I wouldn't go up a size. If you're in between sizes, definitely size up. These are definitely tight around the hip area. If you're more hippy I would size up. These are definitely way tighter than both the WUP I reviewed for this post. And all of them are size 4.

    2. Sherry- forgot to answer the last question. I would consider these to be lightweight. Do you have any werkshop leggings? These are just slightly thicker than Werkshop leggings. I've never taken a spin class but I would wear these for running.

  4. Thanks so much for your reply! I'll check the website again. I just received the fleece crew (white) that was in the Tuesday's upload. I wanted to see what it was like. It's a heavy weight fleece, comfy. Tts but it fits weird at the shoulders and loose at the hips. Has the zippers on the bottom, but you have to unzip them to get into the kangaroo pocket. It's going back and I wouldn't even buy it if it went to wmtm. I almost bought the werkshop crane crops(so pretty), but I don't think I could pull off the print like you can ;)

    1. Wow, that pull over sounds really strange especially the part where you have to unzip to get to the pocket. The Crane print is so gorgeous though! I always get a bunch of compliments whenever I wear them out. Really all you need is a pair of boots or you can even wear them casually with sneakers.

  5. Got my military green First Mile jacket today and I am in love ❤ it will be my cold (-5• to -10• Celsius) weather running jacket 😁 I agree that the back is snug due to the stitching on the vented back...actually popped one when pulling the jacket on but it's not noticeable luckily. Aside from that I find it to be a roomy TTS, could even fit a define under it. So glad I snagged one! I opted for the green as I have a lot of purples in my running wardrobe and the green will contrast nicely.

    1. Oh nice! I'm glad you love it. I still haven't worn mine out yet, it's not really cold enough to wear it here. I'm still wearing my hoodies. Can you stitch back the one you popped open? I'll have to make sure I'm extra careful about putting the jacket on!

  6. It's fine 😉 I did a bit of a hulk Hogan movement as I expected the back to stretch 😉 I had to search for the popped stitch so it doesn't affect the appearance or functionality. Just wanted to give you a heads up 😊

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in.
