Review! Lululemon's Fast Track Bag 2.0 in 8L and 9L - What was Lulu Thinking?

How is everyone doing? I'm finally back with a new review! I was so sure I would keep at least one of these bags, but it turns out, I was so wrong. I normally have a bunch of mod shots, but you really need to see the the video of me trying the bag on, to get a sense of how awkward this bag is in real life.

I ordered this bag in the 8L and 9L. Both sizes were great. This bag can fit a lot. It can fit a notebook, a water bottle easily with plenty of room for more. This bag would have been great as a travel bag, which was why I ordered it. I was hoping to use one of these bags for my Boston trip. However, I ended up returning all three bags.

I love the mesh fabric, even though it is more delicate and shows wrinkles easily since it's made of spacer material. I love the Crater Blue color. It's a summery blue/green.

Notice the wrinkles. I don't believe they would come out easily.

The strap is the biggest issue I have with these bags. The strap is looped through the ring in the center of the bag, and because of this, the straps just keep shifting and moving. There's nothing to keep it from staying in one place and as you're grabbing hold of the strap one one end, the bag falls into a curl making it super awkward to put it on as a backpack. You really need to watch the video, to see it happen. If you have any shoulder mobility issues, I definitely do not recommend this bag at all.

Lululemon tried to design this bag as a sling, a crossbody, and a backpack all in one, but in the end, it failed at all three. If this was just a regular backpack with regular straps, I would have kept at least one, if not two. I really don't know what the designers were thinking.

If you have this bag and love it, please let me know in the comments what I am missing! I just could not get this bag to work for me. I loved the zippers and the organizational pockets of this bag. Love the colors, but it is just not practical or easy to use.

(In case you want to give it a try!)

A real shame, because it just looked like it had so much potential. Crater Blue on the left and Warm Ash Gray on the right. Both of these are 9L. I can't recommend this bag, at all! That's it for me! I hope you all have a wonderful start to a brand new week!

  1. Hi Leslie,
I’ve been eyeing the Fast Track Bag 2.0 9L in Warm Ash Gray and thanks so much for the review! The video is extremely helpful but for some reason an error message popped up when I clicked on the video and I could only watch it on YouTube.

The bag has so much potential but sadly the strap design ruins it. It also doesn’t hang right when worn as a crossbody. Like you said, they are trying to do too many things at once and it didn’t work.

    1. Hi Andrea! Thanks for letting me know, but it's probably best to watch in YouTube. I'll see if I can get the error message fixed. I really wish they would release it as just a regular backpack. I would buy it.

  2. Oh man! I have the 9.0L in Pink Haze and I actually love it. I agree it is the perfect size- I can fit a water bottle, long sleeve shirt, headphones, wallet, phone and keys. I’m glad I didn’t get the mesh, the non-mesh bag has metal strap fasteners. I do see how the backpack straps are super annoying, but I have been using as a crossbody more. And when I use as a backpack, I extend the straps as long as possible and haven’t had too much trouble- no shoulder issues so I just put both straps on at the same time. I plan on getting the 16L because I love the look and shape of the bag and want to use the 16L for traveling.

    1. Hi! I knew there had to be some people who have this bag that love it. Since you're using it as a crossbody bag, does it hang very long when you wear it or do you prefer it higher up? I just wish they would make this as a regular backpack!

    2. I wear it across my back and it being the size that it is, falls perfectly diagonally on a petite back (IMO). And the strap is so long and adjustable, I haven’t had any issues finding the length that I prefer. I usually wear it walking with the dog so I can bring the water and large headphones and also be handsfree. If the straps are in backpack mode and I am in a rush, I’ll just grab both straps and wear as a shoulder bag. I could probably get another one and keep one in crossbody and one in backpack, that’s how much I love the size and shape. 😂 but I also love the look of the City Essentials 10L for a more upgraded look!

    3. City Essentials 10L is pretty, but I love the look of the Fast Track more. But I am glad you're enjoying the bag!

  3. Oh no, I really liked the form factor of this but never tried. I felt like it was such a nice shape and size, the diagonal zipper was a nice touch. So disappointing it didn’t work out and not recommended.

    1. Hi AC! The bag has so much potential. Lulu just needs to either keep it as a crossbody or make one that's a backpack only.

  4. Hello :) I just watched you Youtube video as I just purchased the bag on a whim after a gym session, my other bag is way too big and this looked perfect for a big drink bottle, towel and some headphones. I noticed that perhaps you may not have checked the tag as to how to configure the straps for the cross-body mode. There is an anchor loop at the top of the bag that you attach the strap to, I also modded mine to make the strap go through the plastic semi loop for extra stability. Fit is so comfortable and form factor is perfect for me even without a brink bottle to lengthen while wearing. Can send a pic if you are interested.

    1. Hi Danielle! Yes, please send me a photo of your configuration, I have already returned the bags. Does this also work for carrying it as a backpack as well? Thanks in advance!

  5. Ooo I like the warm ash grey color but unfortunate the bag wrinkles! I had a ball cap back in the day when LLL camo was huge and the wrinkles never came out once it did wrinkle (it was a foam like fabric) -Janessa

    1. Hi Janessa! Yes, the knit mesh one is probably similar to your ball cap, it's a bit foamy. Very soft, but not great if it wrinkles.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Fit Review Friday! Allbirds Tree Glider

Hi everyone! I'm posting from New Orleans. I'm hitting up a Lululemon while I'm here. I always like to visit other Lululemon stores when I'm traveling. I was planning on having an Aviator Nation review for you guys but Hurricane Helene threw my plans out the window. So I will try and have it up when I get back to Atlanta. In the meantime, here's an Allbirds review.  For reference my street size is 5.5. I'm usually a 5.5 in Allbirds, but for the Tree Gliders they run large. I took these in a size 5. Definitely size down. I've partnered up with Allbirds! Super excited to share my  personal link . Click on  my link  for a 15% off. I love how they use their shoe laces as the handle to carry the shoe box. It's really cool and love how sustainable they are. Even the packaging is well thought ou...
