It's been awhile since I went on a trip. We went to New Orleans for a long weekend with my sister and she surprised me with a new purse! I have a video up on my Youtube Channel if you want to take a look at the unboxing. I had the purse shipped back to my home since I didn't want to take it with me on the plane. The whole experience from the sweet sales associate to the overnight shipping was fantastic.
Now, I know you all want to know about the food! The first place we went to was Harbor Seafood & Oyster Bar. We ordered a ton of oysters. I forgot how much food is fried down here. It's a good thing we did a lot of walking everyday to burn it off. Hopefully!
The next day for lunch we had sushi at this place called Unagi & Sushi. It was excellent, but we ordered entirely way too much food!
Scallops
This was amazing!
After lunch we did a little bit of shopping, where I purchased this Always Effortless Jacket in Bone. If you missed it, you can catch up on my review here.
Then we went to Saks where they had a Fendi store. My sister decided to surprise me with an early Christmas gift. Definitely check out the video for the story. It took me a long time to decide between the interlacing Peekaboo or the Selleria Peekaboo. Which one do you think I went for? Watch my video to find out!

Afterwards we walked around a lot and of course we had to hit up Cafe du Monde. It was so good, we went back twice! It's a good thing we got a lot of walking in. The weather was perfect. It was all clear skies and sunny, with high temperatures in the mid 80s, but thankfully it wasn't very humid at all. We totally lucked out.
Beignets part two!
The next day we went to the World War II Museum. It was fantastic. The place is huge and takes about six hours to walk through, though we didn't have enough time as they closed at 5 pm, but we still saw a decent amount in the two hours that we had. I highly recommend going and just be prepared to spend all day there, so give yourself enough time! There are also a couple of movies to watch that are worth paying for. Next time we will have to go back and spend time in the areas we missed.
The last restaurant we went to was Drago's Seafood Restaurant. Food was amazing. I highly recommend going to New Orleans if you can! We had a blast and I'm sure this won't be the last time we go.
I sure missed my cats, and I was happy to go home! Hope you all enjoyed these photos and here's to a productive week!
Flash plays Peekaboo!
So happy to hear you had a great time with your sister! And how sweet is she to buy you a purse. Can’t wait to watch the video to see what you chose. Both are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michele! I was so shocked she would gift me a Peekaboo. I was not expecting that!
DeleteSomeone is more interested in the box than the purse, Leslie! :D I did replay the videos a few times because of Snoopy LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your trip with us, Leslie! Glad you had a wonderful time and how sweet of your sister to surprise you with such a beautiful purse!
Andrea
Hi Andrea! Of course Snoopy would steal the show! =D
DeleteShe's the best! She knows how much I love purses and still can't believe she would indulge me!
Ok I need to be adopted by a sister like that! Good to know that the war museum is a whole day activity, our national war museum was a speed run over 2-3 hours.
ReplyDeleteHi AC! Haha, this was a once in a lifetime thing, I think. She normally doesn't go all out like this. Yeah I wasn't expecting it to be an all day thing for the museum. I was expecting 3 hours tops!
DeleteWow all the food looks so good! I love beignets. I'm going to guess the smooth bag! And that's so nice of your sister. -Janessa
ReplyDeleteHi Janessa! I went with the interlacing Peekaboo, since the other side is plain. =) She really is the best.
