Fit Review Friday! Lululemon Sleek Spacer Full Zip Hoodie, Swiftly Relaxed Long Sleeve Shirt Hip Length Updated Fit, Softstreme Pique Mid Rise Short 4"
Happy Friday! Last weekend I stopped by Lululemon to see if they had any of the Sleek Spacer items for me to try on. Not only did they have the Full Zip hoodie, they also had the Half Zip but as soon as I picked up the Half Zip I could tell it was way too oversized even in the XXS. Needless to say the Sleek Spacer line runs ginormous. 😩
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 or XS/S in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
I'm wearing size XXS and it is very oversized. I think this may be the only time I would ever want size XXXS. It's very wide and boxy. The sleeve length is long as expected, however the length of the hoodie was actually fine. It hit at the hip which is how I like my hoodies.
The weight of the Spacer material is actually quite heavy. It feels great, very smooth with medium thickness, but feels hefty. The hood itself was fairly heavy. I think I'm sized out in this hoodie. As much as I wanted to love this hoodie, I'm glad it isn't petite friendly because the price is ridiculous!
Next up, Cindy wanted to know if the Swiftly Relaxed Updated Fit could be a size down item and I can confirm it definitely is. I normally like to wear size 6 in the fitted Swiftly tops, sometimes even a size 8. For the relaxed updated fit, I sized down to a 2! I'm wearing the hip length version and I actually find it to be quite flattering tucked into a pair of jeans. 😍
I really love how it looks. I think if it manages to hit WMTM, I will pull the trigger. Loving the Slate gray color too. My only complaint is how long the sleeves are, but that's something I'm very used to at this point in my life.
The fit is 100% spot on for me. I even like the length! I just searched to see if they make the relaxed fit in the waist length and couldn't find it on the website. Does anyone know if that exists?
Last but not least are the Softstreme Pique MR Short. I didn't have high hopes for this to be honest. I'm wearing size small which fits in the waist, but it's too big everywhere else. My thighs are way too small to pull this off. It makes my legs look too thin. 😫

I can't even look at these photos. 😆
I love the fabric, but this is an easy pass. That is it for me! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

(Kind of tempted. 😅)

Thanks for the fit review especially on the relaxed swiftly updated fit. It looks fantastic on you. Is the fabric of that hoodie similar to the varley ones? Even though it’s oversized it still looks ok on you. So pricey. Have you ever tried Kit and Ace. I think the son of Chip Wilson , original founder of lulu started that company. I find lot of their items are not petite friendly but I found the most perfect sweater from there. Too bad the price wasn’t so perfect. It’s called the Esme sweater in the relaxed fit version.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have a couple of Kit and Ace shirts from several years ago! I kind of forgot about them!! I think they were cashmere blend technical shirts? It's a very small amount of cashmere if I remember correctly, but super soft.
DeleteI agree that the hoodie still looks cute on you, Leslie! If it wasn't for the sleeves and the price, it would be a nice oversized, trendy piece. Way too much for a trendy piece though. I love the fit of the LS Swiftly on you.
Hi there, the Sleek Spacer is not similar to DoubleSoft Varley. Between the two fabrics I prefer Doublesoft. It just feels softer and more Luxe. I haven't tried Kit and Ace. I did look it up years ago but never bought anything.
DeleteHi Stacy! Yeah that price is too much for something that doesn't fit great. It's cute, but I don't think I'm willing to spend $180 after taxes on it. I'd rather get the LS Swiftly!
DeleteHi Leslie! Thanks for the fit review! I was at Lululemon yesterday and saw the sleek spacer pant. I liked the fabric, but think it's more suitable for hoodies than pants. I didn't see the hoodie at the store, so I'm glad you did. I like the oversized fit on you!
ReplyDeleteI don't think the relaxed Swiftly comes in waist length, but the looser fit is flattering! Good to know that we need to size down 2 sizes for this.
Hi Karen,
DeleteI've owned Spacer items before and sometimes they do get permanent wrinkles in them. I wonder if the Sleek Spacer is any different.
Agree, the new Swiftly updated fit is really cute. I am tempted to pick one up on sale.
Thanks for another great fit review, Leslie!
ReplyDeleteThe spacer hoodie looks cute on you in the first two pictures, but it looks kinda boxy and stiff in the third. I have two LLL spacer jackets in different weights. The first one is made with a thinner spacer fabric which drapes nicely. The other one is thicker but still soft, and I love both jackets. I wonder if the Sleek Hoodie is made with an even thicker spacer material.
So far the alpha sizing is not working for me.
Andrea
Hi Andrea! It is more on the stiff side. It doesn't have a nice drape as Softstreme. But it is kind of cute. I think this Spacer is probably on the thicker side. It has a decent weight to it. Agree, the alpha sizing is too all over the place!
DeleteTake advantage of lululemon's free hemming! I always get the sleeves hemmed and occasionally pants too if there's no 25" available.
ReplyDeleteI really should, but I am also very lazy to do so!
DeleteThanks for the space sleeker review, I still like the cut of it, the sleeves are something different. But will have to just admire from afar given the price point.
ReplyDeleteHi AC! The sleeves are just so big and wide. But the price point is too high for it not to be at least closer to perfect fit.
DeleteThank you for the fit reviews! I think the Relaxed Swiftly looks great on you! I think if it goes on WMTM, you should totally get it!
ReplyDeleteThe Sleek Spacer Full Zip is kind of disappointing, in my opinion. I too am hating the alpha sizing - it is ridiculously inconsistent. I think many of us will be sized out of that jacket. Oh well, the price of it is off-putting anyway.
Hi Lola! I added the Swiftly to my cart. Will keep an eye on it. Unsure if the gray/slate is considered a core color or not. It will be a while but that's okay considering it's getting warm here.
DeleteThe price is SUPER off putting. Very annoying to say the least.
Thanks for the reviews! I haven't tried the new version of the relaxed Swiftly, but I really like it on you! It doesn't come in a waist length, so I think I would knot it in the front or back. I am also too lazy for hemming these days.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the Pique shorts. I really liked them on the hanger and hoped they would work for me, but they were a flop. I need a bigger booty to fill out the flare in the back.
Hi LZ! Yeah I'm actually really liking the fit of the new relaxed Swiftly. I have it added to my cart. Hopefully I can catch it on markdown.
DeleteThe Pique shorts looked awful on me. I needed a bigger botty and legs!
