Frugal February Challenge, Fit Requests, and My Growing Wish!

I can't believe February is right around the corner. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know I'll be participating in Frugal February. If you're new to my blog, this is something I do every year and have been for a long time. I look forward to this even though February is my birthday month. It's somewhat of a silver lining because it doesn't allow me to go completely crazy and celebrate my birthday all month long. However, I do keep a wish list going and once March comes around, if I still want those items, I allow myself to purchase them. This way it's a thought out purchase and not an impulse buy. Well, you may ask, "What happens if the stuff on your wish list sells out?" It's perfectly fine if it does because I'm sure it'll be a little painful but there's always secondhand platforms like Poshmark or Ebay if I really REALLY want the item.  I like to do this challenge twice a year. It allows me to reset my sho

Frugal February & My First Purchase!

I survived Frugal February. I like to do a shopping ban every six months. My next ban will come around August. It let's me reset and remind myself that I'll still survive if I don't give in to my wants all the time. Except this time I actually broke my ban. I ended up making a couple of purchases I didn't really need. Bought myself a bunch of Coach X Disney charms that I knew would be sold out in a matter of days. I could not resist this Dumbo charm. How could I say no to Thumper? I also bought some tees for work and another Sophie sweater blazer from J.Crew for spring. I have it in the light gray and decided the navy would be a great addition to my work wardrobe. Then I really broke my ban when I caved and bought the Glyde Scuba Hoodie on finale sale. I love the boysenberry color and didn't want to miss out. I purchased it in the size 2 and it's a fitted look which I think I do prefer. The 4 would have also fit and would have been better for

Frugal February & More Photos of Sunrise Silhouette

I was hoping to take more photos of the Sundown Wrap  over the weekend but it didn't happen. I hope to have more photos by Friday's post. I did however manage to take some photos of the sunrise silhouette print that I'm obsessed with right now and as you can see I also bought the matching bra! The bra is not as colorful as the Speed Up Short , they look more subdued and muted. I still love it though. It's rare for me to have anything matching when I workout. This is a first! Free To Be Wild Bra Speed Up Short As some of you know it's February and this is when I try and go on a ban from spending needlessly. Even though I did relatively well for January I would like to continue to do even better for February. I did place a couple of orders at the end of January so I will have some fit reviews coming up. I'll probably also visit the stores a little more for some try on posts.  I'll be spending the entire month of February cleanin

Happy February!

January went by so fast. With everything going on with Sherlock it's been exhausting. I haven't even gone to a Lululemon store in so long. I'm going to definitely try and make a trip out there this weekend. My goal for 2018 is to try and buy less, to consume less material goods. That said, I am allowing myself one purchase a month. It can be anything really. For the most part I succeeded in January. I made two purchases that I didn't "need". Athleta Girl Cozy Cruiser Jogger  (on sale!) I loved my black pair so much I stalked Athleta's website until my size was back in stock for the gray pair. I have a review of the black pair here . Since I purchased another pair of joggers, I am going to sell/donate at least one pair in my closet that no longer works for me. Harry Potter Golden Snitch Necklace My second purchase is this gorgeous golden snitch necklace. I'm a Potterhead so after my Harry Potter trip I've been pretty obsessed wit

Thoughts on Frugal February and my Current Wish List!

Every February I make myself go on a shopping ban. It seems like the right thing to do post holiday shopping. Just to give you an idea of what my January spending looked like, I spent $627 just on activewear alone . Talk about crazy, right? I spent about $465 on an interview suit, button up shirt and shoes which I think paid off, since I got the job. Then I went to New York and decided to get new glasses and contacts which totaled to $476. Those are just some of the big ticket items in January. This month was completely different. I did however need some new work clothes. Here are my results for Frugal February. Food - $75.28 (this includes lunches purchased at work and supermarket runs, although I'll admit my husband pays for most of the groceries) 😂 Taxi- $18.17 (I don't drive and on the days I couldn't catch a ride from my husband or co worker I paid for Lyft or Uber) Work clothes- $242.84 (purchased two pairs of pants, a sweater and tank) Phone case - $12
