Fit Review Friday! On The Fly Crop, City Core Tight, Still Mind Crop

Happy Friday everyone! Last weekend I managed to hit the store for some try ons. First up we have On The Fly Crop in true navy.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in most Lululemon bottoms. Once in a while I can fit into a size 2. This is one of those instances where I can fit into a size 2. I found the true navy On The Fly Crop ran one size large. There is a drawstring to cinch in the waist. The overall length of these crops is 23 inches which for me hits above the ankle. I am not crazy about the slight flare at the hem and would have preferred a more tapered look.

The waist hit below my belly button which I like. The full on luxtreme fabric feels nice and smooth to the touch. Overall these are very casual pants and not quite what I'm looking for. I was hoping I could wear these to the office during the summer months, but the look isn't quite elevated enough.

Next up we have the City Core Tight in antique bark. Here I am wearing my normal size 4. The actual color in real life is definitely more purple. It looks more brown in these photos because of the lighting is my best guess. The last photo of the leg is closer to the true color.

These tights are 28 inches long. Much too long for me. The fabric is Nulux and this pair is designed for high intensity workouts. The waist is very tight and it also has a drawstring, but honestly I had a hard time getting these past my hips. I think if you're in between sizes, definitely size up.

These are hi-rise and the waist hits a little bit above my belly button. I forgot to do the bend over test and I will say that these are super tight and unless you go commando, the outline of your underthings will show as you can see in the below pic and I'm wearing the kind that's seamless!! 😅 Wow that was a very long run on sentence.

This is a better photo of the actual color.

Last but not least, we finally have a winner! I have been eyeing the Still Mind Crop ever since my ban and these did not disappoint. I am wearing my usual size 4. The length of these are 23 inches which is the same length as the On The Fly Crop but the major difference is the tapering of the leg. The tapered leg looks so much better on me. The fabric is Nulu, which feels super soft and buttery, but it is also thin. They feel the same as the Align bottoms and I LOVE the ones I have so much.

Still Mind Crop Black Size 4

The waist is mid rise and hit just underneath my belly button. I personally find mid rise to be the most comfortable. I really like the ruched look of the waistband. I did not find that it added to my waist when I wore them to the office. (Shhh... don't tell my boss!) I love that they look like toothpick pants. I purchased these in black just for that purpose. The black color makes it hard to tell that these are leggings and not pants.

There is a seam that runs down the side but since it is also black in color, it blends in and is not distracting. The interlink ice gray pair has a contrasting black seam that I think takes away from the sleek look.

I am super happy with these and it's a double plus that I can wear them to the office. As long as I have a long sweater coat or cardigan that covers the bum, no one can tell I'm wearing leggings. I'm wearing sneakers but when I get to the office I change into a pair of booties. The booties totally elevates the look.

That's it for me! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

OH and the latest WMTM update-

(I have this and love it. Sad that I could have bought it for $39 but I've already worn it a lot, so I guess it's okay. My review here.)

(This was just released! Can't believe it's already on WMTM)

(I'm actually kind of annoyed at myself for not ordering this sooner, I really wanted to try it but since I'm not 100% sure I would like this, now I have to pass.)

  1. Thanks for the review on the On The Fly Crop. It’s interesting that they’ve made the bottom of the crop version a bit flare. I love my On The Fly Pants and the only thing that I don’t like is the hem. I wish It was straight instead of tapered. Maybe I should check out the crop version.

The Still Mind Crop looks very nice on you.

  3. Was traveling to a major city last week and got to a Lulu store - they had the On the Fly Crop on markdown. I'm 5'4", so the crops end up hitting me on my calves and the slight flare worked on my big calves, lol! I won't be able to wear to work, but super comfy for travel and weekends out and about. I only purchased because my hubby bought two pairs of Lulu men's pants (super nice) and I didn't want to leave empty handed. I wore these crops the rest of the weekend and on the plane back home. I was surprised how much I liked them.

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
