Store Try Ons! Radiant Jacket, Speed Wunder Reflective Tight, Wunder Under Crop Special Edition, Wunder Under Crop Parallel Stripe

Happy New Year everyone! I love new years, new months, new anything. I'm still thinking about what I want to accomplish for 2019. Do you have any new year resolutions?

I took some time off and managed to get to the store during my staycation. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

For the Radiant Jacket I sized down to a 2. I really like the oversized collar. If gives you style without any effort! I couldn't get a good shot of it though since I'm using my phone for pictures. The sleeves are super long. Much too long for me to even consider keeping. The wide band at the hips is quite fitted which ends up making the fabric around my stomach poof out. Kind of makes me look slightly pregnant. Definitely not the look I'm going for. I did love the color. Another thing that I disliked about the jacket is the shallow front pockets. It's a deal breaker for me. Had to pass on this one! However, I'm positive this jacket looks way more flattering on taller frames. This is just not petite friendly.

Next up we have the Speed Wunder Under Reflective Tight. This one is pricey at $198. I do not own anything close to $198 for one pair of tights. These are made of full on luxtreme and they feel smooth and silky. They're on the thin side and have a slight compression feel to them. I would say these are also true to size. I'm wearing my normal size 4 bottoms.

As I have short legs, these do nothing to elongate them. They actually kind of make me look thicker and if you look closely the lines do not match up on the bum. I'm 100% sure they did that on purpose though. The stripes are actually raised and you can feel them with your fingertips. For $198, these tights come with a warning sign that says over time the stripes will crack! GAH, really?! But since I am not a runner I can easily pass on this pair, but if you are serious into running and run in the dark, they might be worth it.

Close up of the bum

Unfortunately I was wearing nude underthings, so I cannot say if these are sheer. They are lined black on the inside though. As for length at 28 inches they're too long for me. Anything over 24 inches is too long since I'm petite.

Stripes are reflective and raised.

Next up we have Wunder Under Crop Special Edition Scallop 24". I love the frosted rose print and I love the scallop hem so I wanted to see these in person at least for a try on. I tried these on a couple of years ago in the wee are from space and the ankles were very loose on me. I was happy to see these fit much better!

I'm wearing my normal size 4 and these are true to size. I do have a pet peeve with this print. I love how it looks but once it's stretched, you can see the white lines underneath the print. Not a fan of that. The modeling pics on the website kind of hint to it but seeing it up close definitely made it easy to pass on these as well. Which is a bummer because they finally fit at the ankles!

Next up we have the Wunder Under Crop in parallel stripe. I'm wearing my normal size 4 and these fit true to size for me. I know these are super popular and it's currently sold out. (Which I can't believe.) I'm not a big fan of horizontal stripes because they're not flattering on me. I guess I'm in the minority.

Wunder Under Crop Parallel Stripe Size 4

I definitely look bloated in this photo. The stripes just accentuates it!

Normally horizontal stripes make my butt pop, but these actually kind of just makes me look wider? I don't know how to explain it, but it didn't do anything for my bum. These were an easy pass for me too!

I left the store empty handed. Before I sign off, I would like to mention that in case anyone missed it, the Toasty Tech Tights are up on WMTM at $89 and right now all three colors are on sale and all sizes are available. My favorite of course is cyber. Garnet is nice, but I tend to dig purple a little more.

I'm also drawn to the Bundle Up Wrap. It's currently priced at $109. Still expensive but a lot better than $178. I love it in both colors but wish they showed a few more pictures of how you can style it. It's made of merino wool so I am sure it's snuggly and soft. The reviews aren't great, so I'm hesitant to get it. If anyone has this, let me know what you think!

That's it for me! I'm so glad it's Friday! Hope you all have a great weekend! Here's to a great 2019!!!

  1. Why is it they can line up the stripes on the Parallel Stripe but not the reflective?? For $198 I'd expect those stripes to look just as nice as the WUs!

  2. That Radiant jacket looked so good on you.. too bad about the fit, or I’d tell you to buy it for sure!

    1. I used to own one a few years back. Ended up selling it because my phone kept falling out of the pocket! Seems like the fit is quite different this year.

  3. I love the color of that Radiant jacket, but I can see why you passed on it. I’m also petite and I don’t care for how things sometime bunch up around my midsection. Petite ladies, unite!

    1. Yes, especially long tanks that are fitted... It's one of the reasons why I got rid of almost all of my Swiftly tanks. Should probably just sell the remaining 3 I have left.

    2. Agreed. I had a couple and felt the same way, and sold them. They are just a huge reminder to look st my tummy!

  4. I love my Radiant Jackets and the sleeves are “okay long” on me. Wonder if the sleeve length is longer on this year’s version. Spanish Rose looks nice on you and, if not for the ridiculously long sleeves, I would’ve told you to keep it. I really love the high collar and the length, and get to wear mine all the time. A great alternative to hoodies.

Not interested in any of the striped bottoms. Not quite understand why they are selling like hotcakes!

    1. The color of Spanish Rose is very pretty. I saw another lady at the store trying it on and it looked really good on her, but she was much taller than me!
Same here, don't know what the hype is with all the stripes.

  5. I purchased the parallel striped wunder unders in my usual size 8. They seemed big. Also, I had to check to see if they were on inside out cuz of the stitching at the hem was so obvious. I was going to buy a 6 and compare but they aren’t on the website. Must have sold out? Anyway, I can see by your fit review the hem stitching is the same and they kind of look big on you too. I like how the colors are so true white and black, not muted. Trying to decide if I should keep them or not. The radiant jacket (color) looked good on you. I’m petite so I had the same fit problem, except it was my ‘tush’ that would have been on display . Thanks for the fit review! Happy new year!

    1. Happy New Year! Are your parallel stripes sheer? I saw a lot of posts on FB that they received sheer ones but others posted theirs were opaque.

  6. I love those scalloped crops on you! I was afraid the ankles wouldn't be fitted but now I might have to try them. Perhaps in another colorway since the floral fades to white. Thanks so much for your fit reviews! The Radiant Jacket color is pretty but I think it's too long in the body and arms but I can see it looking cute with leggings and perhaps boots for a more wintery look.

    1. I'm tempted to ty the wee are from space scalloped crops to see if they fit better at the ankles. Those are my favorite versions in the scallop crops. Let me know if you give them a try!

  7. None of these things really work for you, sadly. Glad you didn't buy anything that isn't just perfect for you. Lululemon needs to make petite sizes! I'm pretty sure a lot of us shorter ladies would buy a whole lot more if they did!

As for the butt stripes not lining up, that's just bad. It is a sign of quality for stripes or plaids to match or line up and that's clearly lacking here.

I hope your next batch of try-ons work!

    1. I've been saying that for years! They really do need to make petite sizes. It's probably better off for my bank account that they don't! LOL.

  8. Very opaque. I purchased the luon crops. I use them for Pilates and wanted luon for warmth. I am waiting for the atheta striped contender to arrive so I can compare and see which one I prefer.

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
