Fit Review Friday! Athleta High Rise Quest Chaturanga To Town Tight, High Rise Quest Chaturanga Capri

Yay to another Friday! Athleta is having an extra 20% off sale items. Use code: EXTRA20. Deal ends January 2nd.  Also Ebates has 6% cash back today for Athleta.

I've been meaning to give Athleta's Chaturanga tights another try.  I bought these during the sale and picked out a few colors and sizes to try.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches and typically wear a size 4 in Lululemon bottoms.

I purchased these in petite and regular sizes to try.  Here the I'm wearing the petite size small.  These fit a little bit big in the waist.  I would prefer these in petite XS.  They website was sold out of the petite XS at the time of purchase.  The high rise on these sit right underneath my belly button.  I found these to be very comfortable.

Compression wise, since these aren't my correct size, I would say it's medium compression.  For the bend test, these were not 100% opaque on me.  Best to wear nude underthings to be safe.  These also have pockets on both sides that are large enough to fit an iPhone 7 plus.  I have an iPhone 6 and it's swimming in there.

I'm actually really surprised at how much I liked them.  I have thin calves and ankles and these fit perfectly.  They are not baggy like my Lululemon Wunder Under Pants.  The petite length is also just right.  Not too long and not too short.  I think I need to find these in a petite XS.

The waist is little bit loose.

Overall, I really liked these and would definitely buy a pair to add to my collection of tights.  Right now they're on sale for 54.99 plus an extra 20% off.  Pretty sweet.

High Rise Chaturanga to Town Tight Purple Drama Size XS

This pair is the same style and fit as the black pair I just reviewed.  Besides the length being too long on my petite frame and the size to be XS (which fit me better in the waist) I found the high rise to be a little bit higher than the petite version.  I also noticed that these were more opaque in the bend test which I found odd, and comparing the two fabrics, the purple drama is slightly thicker.

I really can't get over how well these fit in the calves and ankles.  No bagginess at all!  Why can't Lululemon fit me like this?!

Overall, I really liked these as well, but I'm returning since the petite sizing definitely fits me better than the regular version.

High Rise Quest Chaturanga Capri Size XS

I had a lot of hope for this capri version but sadly these did not fit the same as the others.  These were very baggy in the knees and calves.  I was pretty disappointing right off the bat.

The high rise sits a little bit above my belly button.  The waist fits perfectly.  These also passed the bend over test.  But because of the overall bagginess at the knees and ankles these are being returned.

Major flaring at the ankles

Just for fun I also picked a pair of leggings from their Athleta's Girl line to try.  I wasn't sure on the sizing so I went with XL.  The waist is a little loose.  I do think a size large would have fit better in terms of length and fit.

Girl Energy Chit Chat Tight Black Size XL

On the left side of this photo the hem is folded up so you can see how much I would have to hem these.  On the right I have them folded under so you can still see some of the reflective detail that would be left, but it's barely there.

These passed the bend over test.  However the waistband has an adjustable loop that runs through and I found it to be a little bit itchy.  I would give the Athleta Girl another try in a size large.  I may put another order in today with the extra 20% off.  I'm considering this space dye version in red and blue.

That's all for today!  I hope everyone has a super awesome weekend and a Happy New Year to you all!  See you in 2017!

    1. I didn't think people would be interested in the Blooming Pixie WUC since you can't actually buy them except for eBay, but sure I'll try and get something in maybe for the spring? I'll try and get some outfits together in the meantime.

    2. I got the blooming pixie as well, and I love them. The fabric is really soft, which I was worried about because I have another full on luon in a different print that's really stiff. The pattern placement on mine is perfect, so I think I'll get a lot of wear out of these. They're going to be my New Year's workout outfit. I'm channeling spring for the new year!

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
