Fit Review! Alo Yoga Athena Moto Leggings

With all the friends & family sales going on I couldn't resist snapping up a pair of these Alo Yoga Moto Leggings.  These are priced at $110 but with the F&F discount I got them for $83.50 plus tax.  I personally love motorcycle inspired clothing.  I have a couple of motorcycle leather jackets and these leggings definitely fit the theme.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches and wear size 4 in Lululemon bottoms.  These Alo Yoga leggings I'm wearing are a size XS and similar to size 4 in Lululemon Wunder Unders.  If you're a size 2 in Lululemon bottoms, these do come in XXS.

These are mid rise and sit right under my belly button.  The waist band on these are nicely wide and there's a small hidden pocket at the top of the waist band to fit your key and cards.  The fabric reminds me of luon and has a bit of stretch to them.  If mid-rise isn't for you, these also come in a high waisted version.

These are fitted all the way through with a small opening at the ankles.  I knew going in these would be super long on me and they do bunch but I'm used to that and if I wear these out casually, I would pair them with a pair of black boots.  Although these also work well with my Nikes.

Here's a close up of the panel detailing.  It's a good mix of matte and glossy fabric with some mesh panels under my knee and on the back of my calves.  I did the bend over test and these passed for me which I'm very happy about. I was surprised because I read a few reviews where people complained these were thin and see-through.  Not the case for me.  I would say these have very low compression.

In this photos I'm pointing to a seam that goes right across my knee cap.  Kind of hard to see because the photos are so dark but that's my only complaint.  For all of those out here who are 5 feet tall can you let me know if this seam bothers you?  I've walked around my apartment in them for a little bit and sometimes it's noticeable and sometimes it's not.  I'm just unsure if this would bother me if I'm walking around all day.

If black isn't your color, Nordstrom carries these in green, navy, orange and white.  Bloomingdales carries a high rise version in gray.  If I end up keeping these and like them, I would probably consider getting them in gray.  Currently Bloomingdales sold out of the one I bought in all sizes.

Overall I'm leaning towards keeping these.  What do you guys think?  Would love to get some feedback about the seam at the knee.

    1. No. not yet. I was afraid to get a pair. I thought they will be too long on me. But since they loom damn good on you, i really need to give it a try!! They look really good on you more than any other leggings.

    2. WOW thank you! Now I'm definitely going to keep them. I'm just worried about the seam that goes across the knee. It doesn't bother me that much but I wonder if I walked a lot in them if they would. If you're taller than me, they should be fine. I'm just on the very short side.

    1. Thank you so much! I have an airbrush pair with the flowers going up the side that are a little sheer. I would say maybe 15% sheer. Not too bad though. I still wear them and like them a lot. These are definitely better.

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
