Fit Review Friday! Define Jacket, Brave Olive Swiftly, Conduit Crop, Align Crop Darkest Magenta

Happy Friday everyone!  A lot of fit reviews this week.  It's fall madness. I can't take it with all these friends & family sales happening all at once!  Hopefully things will die down soon because my bank account can't handle it.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and usually a size 4 in tops and bottoms.

I placed a small order last week to Lululemon.  Thankfully I didn't love any of the items so I returned it all.  The Define Jacket that I thought was herringbone actually isn't herringbone at all.  It's just a printed on texture to look like herringbone.  I thought the name was just off, but nope, it's correct.  Which is great, because this one is now off my wish list and replaced by darkest magenta.  =)

Fit is true to size as usual, I'm wearing size 4.  The jacket is shown with the Conduit Crops which I also ordered to try, more on that later in this post.

I think the outfit looks great actually, now that I'm looking at the photos on my laptop, but I was really looking for another herringbone Define Jacket.

Next up is the Swiftly Racerback in brave olive.  I tried on the short sleeve and the long sleeve version of this at the store and wasn't wowed by them.  While I liked the racerback the most out of the three, it wasn't love at first sight.  Also this one wasn't as soft as some of my other Swiftlies so I sent this one back as well.

Fit was true to size for me, although I know that's inconsistent.  I liked the back of the tank more than the front.  I wish the floral pattern continued all the way down in the front as it is on the back.

Next up is the Conduit Crop.  Fit is true to size, I am wearing a size 4.  I don't usually like stripes, but these are so thin it doesn't even look like stripes from afar.  Which is a plus, because given how short I am, I usually stay far away from anything stripey.

I found these to be very figure flattering.  They made my bum look really good.  I did the bend over test and these passed.  I also found these to be fairly compressive.

As usual these gave me the baggy ankle syndrome.  They flared out quite a bit on me.  If I kept these, they would need to be hemmed.

The biggest gripe I have about these crops are the seams.  They are much thicker than normal and wrinkle when my leg is in any position but straight.  Here's a close up shot of what I mean.  The seams stick out quite a bit and is not flush.  They probably stick out about 1/8th of an inch.  It was definitely odd.

Other than the seams and the baggy ankles, these crops looked great.  But for $98, I sent them back.

My favorite purchase so far from Lululemon are the Align Crops I purchased in darkest magenta.  Here are some better modeling shots.

I'm wearing it with my dusty mauve Essential Tank.  I wouldn't mind getting a couple more of these tanks in other colors.  I'm liking the chilled grape and jet set blue that was released this week.

No baggy ankle syndrome with these!  And they make my bum look great.  It's hard to say no when the fit is absolutely perfect.  Only super petite girls can appreciate finding a perfect fitting pair of crops that do not need any adjustment.

Sometimes I like to roll down the waist and wear them like this if I'm not feeling the high waist.

That's all for today.  Have a great weekend everybody!

    1. =) I always try to do a review on Friday and yes I think you will love the darkest magenta color. It's a nice addition to inkwell.

    2. I just visited store and saw darkest magenta in person. I LOVE THEM!! My size is out of stock so I couldn't try them and now i cant wait till my mail day!!

  2. How do the Aligns (sz 4) stay up on you, tiny woman?! I'm a bit taller (5'2") but way thicker (~120-125 lbs) than you. I'm constantly pulling them up, & I only wear them casually. I nvr even considered sz 2, since all my Lululemon bottoms are sz 4. I'll try sz 2 for my next pair of Aligns.

    1. I don't know?! Maybe my hips keep them up? I've never had them fall down or anything. I think I tried on a size 2 once a long time ago and thought they were too tight?

    2. Ohh, ok. I wonder if they'll stretch out over time...I've only worn my 3x so far; just purchased last wk.

    3. I'll definitely keep an eye out in case they stretch. If yours stretched out after 3 wears I would exchange them? It's worth a try.

  3. I wear size 4 as well and im 5' and 110. I bought my first align when I weighed 120 and I had to pull them up constantly and now they fit way better than before. I sometimes try some leggings in their size 6, and it fits better. Lulu''s sizing is very weird. I also wear xxs in Athleta.

    1. Oh we're almost the same height! I weigh just a little bit less. I'm a size 6 in some of their bottoms too. Not sure what size I am in Athleta though, but I think XS?

    2. I used to wear size xs in Athleta but for this time xs felt like between 4-6 in lulu. There were not mich difference between xs and xxs but xxs more likely 2-4 and xs like 4-6. My old pair of Athleta is size xs though. Since you have skinny legs, youbetter try xxs!!

    3. Sometimes I feel like I'm in-between sizes at Athleta. XXS is too tight, but XS just a tad too loose. Next time I go, I will try the bottoms again.

  4. THANK YOU for the hazy define review. I was longing for it but I don't want a printed define. I think I'll stalk on resale sites for a true herringbone.

I received the purple CRB 2 on the massive WMTM, and I'm in the minority: I love it. I like it so much more than the CRB I. I like the higher rise in the chest and then shorter length (I'm about your height too). I'm flat-chested, and I think it hugs my chest. And I like how my FTBW bras show more.

    1. You're welcome!

Hmmmm.... maybe I'll give it a try again at the store. I think I'll hold out for a heathered CRB2 though. I much prefer heathered ones. If the Conduit goes on WMTM, I will consider it then, but would definitely have to get them hemmed.

  5. I also think the Conduit looks great on you! Maybe it will come out on massive sale, and you'll change your mind about the baggy ankle?

    1. Haha, I'm really not! I mean I could make myself fit into a size 2, but I wouldn't be comfortable in it though. I've got a 26 inch waist and that's without eating lol.

  7. Can I ask which of the define's you like better, the hazy herringbone, pictured, or the spray white/black jacquard you had tried on a month ago?! i just can't decide, I'm the same size as you are and for the life of me can't choose?!

    1. I think between the two I preferred the white/black jacquard. It's more unique to me, whereas the hazy herringbone would have been better if it was real herringbone and not just the print of it. I don't think you can really go wrong either way though.

  8. Thanks! I was thinking the same exact thing! BTW, you look great in both, LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog and pics!

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
